Through this new program, we are able to provide resources for your kids to learn more about the challenges and suffering occurring around the world...but in a positive and constructive way. Our tools, in three easy steps, help your kids learn how children all over the world can serve their young friends together.
The “Kids Serving Kids” program has three components:
- “My Special Place” – the story of young Zimbabwean girl, Rebecca, age 7
- A PowerPoint called “My Special Place ”, which highlights the story of a 7 year old girl in Zimbabwe whose mother is dying. This young girl provides a brief tour for her American friends, showing just some of the beautiful things that make her country of Zimbabwe so special.
- “Kids Serving Kids” Handout
- A picture handout is made for every child that participates in your program. This handout provides a picture of a Zimbabwean child that your children can focus on. There are no names listed for security. Each handout also contains three things that your children can do today to serve their new friend in Zimbabwe.
- A Meaningful, Unique, and Practical Fundraising Project
- FVI will work with your group to determine a fundraising project for your children that they can understand. One church collected school supplies, another raised money for food, and another raised money to send kids to school in Zimbabwe. By recognizing that every gift is important, FVI believes this component teaches kids that they can accomplish great things, no matter their age.
