Impact: 80 orphans (53 primary, 27 secondary) back to school and sewing/empowerment projects for 32 widows; construction of a hammer mill that will be used for grinding corn, providing sustainability.
This project identified a community need for hammering mealie, known as corn in the USA. This will not only provide a service to the area’s farmers, but will generate income for the church to sustain their orphaned care ministry.
Funds raised will provide for school requirements, as well as provide food supplements for the kids and their caretakers. The project also wants to host semi-annual retreats for orphans to address their psycho-social/counseling needs and just let kids be kids for a weekend a couple times a year.
