The Rock is home to the first pastor Ryan met in Zimbabwe. After facing poisoning, death threats, and leaving a steady job in the face of 90% unemployment in order to serve as a pastor full-time, James is all in. He understands the unique needs of kids in his church, as he was one of them himself. James dropped out of school in 7th grade after his father passed away, leaving him to care for his siblings. Now, as an educated pastor, who has gone on to receive pastoral training, James understands the plight of each child – the physical and spiritual needs, including the grief kids carry with them.
Forgotten Voices is assisting this community’s orphan care plan because of its demonstration of work and commitment to absorb the costs long-term, well after our funding goes away. James and the adults at The Rock are demonstrating the love of Christ daily and are a daily inspiration to all of us at Forgotten Voices.
