Safe in South Africa, now on to Zimbabwe

UPDATE FROM OUR TEAM TRAVELING TO ZIMBABWE:

We are safely here in South Africa, waiting to board our last flight for a while to Victoria Falls, ending a 3 leg journey that took us from Newark to Zurich to Victoria Falls.

Our time in Zurich was with a couple Cindy & Peter. Cindy leads a group called the English Teacher Association of Switzerland (ETAS). They are working in similar areas and we’ve been talking for nearly a year about ways to collaborate. Continue to pray for these conversations, as our meeting affirmed mutual respect and alignment. They were incredible hosts. We flew into Zurich, got on a train to Zurich main, transferred and took a short trip to Brugg, before a short drive to their little town. Beautiful country, beautiful people. It was a wonderful way to spend a day. Great lunch, showers, and rest. If we were going to have a forced layover, I’m glad we were able to have such a beautiful, restful and productive day.

Status of the team is strong.

From Matt: Giddy isn’t the right word, but it’s close. And definitely tired.
From Kathy: Excited, but feeling the time change.
From Ryan: Thankful for good rest, but can’t shake a head cold. Pray for healing.

We’ll try to write more tomorrow, as we likely will be busy the rest of the day. When we arrive, we’ll have a 20 min drive and then we’ll see the great Victoria Falls this afternoon, before dinner and an early rest. The rest of the trip will be full of long days.

Pray also for Trevor Bunch, one of our Board members. He is doing some work at Beit CURE Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia before meeting us in Bulawayo on Sunday for the rest of our trip.

Pray on. Time to board.

Much love,
Ryan, Matt & Kathy
