Traveling home
After two weeks of encouragement and challenges, heart-break and hope-renewed, our team has departed Zimbabwe and is on their way home to the USA, scheduled to arrive back just in time to celebrate the 4th of July with their families.
Thank you to all of those who have prayed and supported this team in so many ways. No doubt it was a very different experience for each…
- Ryan who travels to southern Africa several times a year but experiences it differently each time
- Trevor who was present for the very beginning of Forgotten Voices but hasn’t visited Zimbabwe in 5 years
- Kathy who is traveling to Africa for the first time to see the work of the ministry in which she and her family have invested so much time and effort
- Matt who is a seasoned world traveler but also seeing Zimbabwe for the first time after many years of supporting Forgotten Voices so enthusiastically
Please pray for this team as they process all that they have witnessed and heard in the past two weeks.
You can send a note of encouragement for the team to info@forgottenvoices.org as they go through re-entry into the USA. In some ways they places they have visited will seem a world away, but in reality it’s only a comparatively short plan ride away and the contrast between here and there can often be jarring, especially coming home.
Check back on the blog for more reflections and trip stories.
Show your support for this team by making a donation to help with the big needs of the church-run orphan care ministries with whom they’ve spent the last two weeks. As they’ve shared over and over during this trip, the Church in Zimbabwe is alive and active and dedicated to the cause of orphan care, but the needs are ever increasing and there is much we can do to offer support.
Blessings,
Ellen Shaffer, Director of Project Management
