10.15.12 - Hope does not disappoint
Today the Free Methodist church held a seminar on Foundations for Farming to help the community grasp the principles of productive farming. A similar seminar was held last year but many crops failed because the region did not receive good rains. But these people are farmers who enjoy working the soil to produce food. Real farmers are patient, hard working and always hopeful.
James 5:7-8
Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming.
See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop,
patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.
You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.
Their hope is rooted in God who is immutable.
Psalm 117
Praise the Lord, all you nations;
extol him, all you peoples.
For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord.
The participants still have hope that God is going to bless us with rain for the seed to germinate and grow to give us food.
There are times, in life and ministry, when darkness seems to ‘veil His face’; we need to rest on the unchanging grace of the One who is immutable, reliable and loving.
Let us pray to live trusting Him with our lives and ministries.
Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
