There are many children suffering in poverty and orphaned at far too young an age. As you develop awareness, you can start to think about the difference that you can make. One thing that makes Forgotten Voices different is that we use local ideas to help solve local problems. This came from thinking outside the box.
You can also think outside the box. There are many standard ways to raise funds for our cause. Can you come up with an idea that is outside the box? Maybe you can give up your xbox to benefit Forgotten Voices. Or how about not shaving for a year? There are many other ways to raise resources. Have you ever thought that an ultimate Frisbee tournament could benefit orphans in Zambia? Well you could make it happen. It is important though, to not just think about an idea.
ACT ON IT! Without action, our thoughts don’t impact those whom need our help. Throw that tournament. Give up that birthday money to send an orphan to school. Host an event to build a mill for a community in Zambia. You can use your ideas to stir up the desire for change in others.
Change your world! The result of acting on thoughts is the change that we can bring in this world. Forgotten Voices is striving to change the lives of the forgotten voices in southern Africa. We need you to help us. You don’t need to wait until you are done with school to make a difference. You have amazing gifts and talents that combined with your passions can bring about amazing change. Did you know that $10 a month allows a child in Zimbabwe to go to school? Ten Dollars! That is it. You don’t need large amounts of resources, just the willingness to give of yourself.
And your willingness to give of yourself does more than change one life. It starts to protract great change. Your giving and serving is contagious and creates a desire within other to join you. Soon you are coming up with more ideas and together you are changing hundreds of lives.
