Impact:

  • Currently caring for 30 abandoned children, plus providing staff salaries and general operations to maintain a consistent environment for the children

This ministry addresses the most vulnerable among the vulnerable: the abandoned children.  Kids who have nowhere to go, but are dropped off by neighbors of the deceased.  They arrive at clinics, hospitals, and church door steps with notes about who they are and where they’ve come from.  This ministry helps connect these kids with distant relatives that neighbors may not know about.  After a period of time, typically a year, the kids are placed in Forever Homes, a part of this ministry.  There, they will be cared for by qualified volunteer parents, who are trained in counseling, physical & mental disability care, and/or are just willing to love kids that seemingly no one has before.

At this ministry, we’ve met kids that were chained to their bed for weeks at a time so a single parent could go off and find work. We’ve met kids that were forced to stay in a single room for five or more years, never leaving to use the bathroom or smell the fresh air of the outdoors. The stories go on. But this ministry is trying to meet the physical and spiritual needs of vulnerable children who have been orphaned by AIDS, yet have no church network to take them in locally.

We are proud to invest in their efforts and praise God for people willing to bridge the gap of life and death, so that kids’ hopes and aspirations carry on.
