We are passionate about using the talents of people from all walks of life to help us fulfill the mission that God has given us: “to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by equipping local churches in southern Africa to meet the physical & spiritual needs of AIDS orphans in their communities." We want to work creatively with you to find ways that your church can best connect with and support ministries in southern Africa. Example: Middlecreek Community Fellowship is a relatively young church plant with a heart for missions. Through their partnership with Forgotten Voices International, they receive periodic updates on our “Rock Church” project in Zimbabwe – which is also a small church plant in a rural area with a heart for ministry and children. Middlecreek Community has invited Forgotten Voices staff to come and speak multiple times over the past few years. Twice they’ve highlighted the ministry of Forgotten Voices International in their summer VBS program, including using our “Kids Serving Kids” curriculum. It’s exciting to see ways that this partnership has had an impact throughout the congregation. We see it in the high school senior who has grown up in the church and is now doing her senior research project on Zimbabwe, and involving our volunteers in her final project presentation. We see it in the parents of a five-year old girl who are finding a creative way to teach their daughter about other parts of the world and blessing others through their involvement with Forgotten Voices. We look forward to continuing this partnership which enriches the church both here and there. Example: Christ Church of the Capital District has a vibrant and dynamic youth ministry within their church and throughout their region. They’ve tapped into the creative energies and musical talents of their youth group and the surrounding area to host “battle of the bands” competitions, which raise funds for Forgotten Voices International. Not only do these events offer great entertainment and a chance to share the gospel and the ministry of Forgotten Voices with their community, they also offer very personal ways to make a difference. Concert attendees can write letters to children at our project sites who have lost a parent to AIDS. They can help create a mural which is then sent as a gift to one of our project locations. Christ Church of the Capital District is using their partnership with Forgotten Voices to make a long-term impact on communities in southern Africa, as well as the teens who are served and impacted by their youth ministry. |
