Update from our Board Chair:

January, 2019

These are exciting times at Forgotten Voices International. With a new Executive Director in 2018 and the recent addition of Bobbie Watkins as the Director of Development and Communications, we are positioned to move forward in 2019.

It is also my pleasure to announce the addition of Dan Davis to the Forgotten Voices Board of Directors. Dan and his wife Karen have 4 grown children and live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. They are members of Grace Church Bethlehem, an ECO Presbyterian Church.

Dan brings a wealth of experience to the FVI board. He has been employed with Presbyterian Senior Living for the past 17 years. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for a staff of nearly 3,000 persons. Presbyterian Senior Living is a not-for-profit senior care ministry that serves over 6,000 persons daily.

Dan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Oklahoma City University and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from Shippensburg University. Dan previously served on the LeadingAge PA Board of Directors as a member for six years and Treasurer for two years.

Former Forgotten Voices CEO and founder Ryan Keith continue in his role as special advisor to the FVI Board of directors and as an advisor to Executive Director, Shelton Taguma. In this support role, Ryan is able to provide valuable advice to staff and ongoing connections to FVI’s constituent base and donors.

Like many other mission organizations, Forgotten Voices has a significant focus on fundraising at the end of the calendar year. As we start the New Year in January, I am reminded that the vital work of Forgotten Voices and the needs of the orphaned children that we support continue without interruption throughout the year. As you prayerfully think about your charitable giving for 2019, I would encourage you to include FVI in your regular giving plan. God is doing great things in Africa through the local church and faithful individuals who meet the needs of vulnerable children. Please answer God’s call to join us in this important work.

Sincerely,

Steve Proctor, Forgotten Voices Board Chair
