With a small grant from Forgotten Voices, a group of farmers from Church of God (Malawi) joined together to implement “Farming God’s Way” – Biblical, managerial and technological principles – to maximize their crop yield. Their remarkable success has attracted notice, and they are eager to bless others by sharing this methodology.
“I have seen the greatness of God through what the church is doing,” said 16-year-old Alfred, who lives with his mom and grandmother. In dire need, the family was blessed by a gift of blankets and maize from Naotcha African Evangelical Church (Malawi). Alfred is pictured with his first hen and chicks, which will provide food and income for his household as they grow.
Maria became the sole caregiver to five children when her husband passed away. “Whenever I think of the pastor and the church, and what they have done for me, I have joy.” Ndirande Rocksprings Baptist Church (Malawi) provided a grant for Maria to start a potato-selling business, which now provides income for her household.

Members of Savings and Credit Associations (SCAs) like this group at Zomba Brethren in Christ Church (Malawi), gather regularly to encourage one another, deposit personal savings and make loans. SCA groups can provide business capital, cover emergency expenses, pay children’s school fees, or support future personal or business goals.
