By the time I get to play for the senior’s team, I will be more than a champion,” says Prince (pictured top right with the yellow shirt) proudly describing his soccer-playing skills. In his first year of high school near Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, he currently plays on the junior’s team. His determination also sets him apart academically: Teachers say that his love for the sciences and his ambition to become a doctor render him well-poised to become one of the top performing students in his class. Prince’s positive attitude shines unexpectedly in light of his difficult family situation. After his father died several years ago, his mother’s health began steadily declining due to HIV. Prince, his mother and his sister moved in with his aunt, a single mother caring for her own two children with no regular income.

Prince asks for prayers for his mum’s healing, and that God would grant him the understanding he needs to be successful at his schoolwork. Prince’s mother thanks God for the encouragement of the saints, requesting that we keep helping her to praise God for her life.
